    Nurse: I’m afraid visiting hours are over, sir
    Visitor: My wife’s in room 3B.
    Nurse: Sorry, you’ll have to come back in the morning.
    Visitor: And leave her all alone overnight?
    Nurse: I’m afraid that’s the policy, sir.
    Visitor: Surely you can make an exception? What if she needs me in the night?
    Nurse: Don’t worry, we’ll look after her. What she really needs is her rest.
    Visitor: Some of her friends want to see her too. When can they come?
    Nurse: Visiting hours are from 9 to 11 in the morning and 4 to 7 in the evening, but I’m afraid while your wife is on bedrest the doctor has requested that only immediate family members come in to see her.
    Visitor: Can’t her friends even stop by to bring her flowers?

    Uncle John’s Halloween Story

    When I was a boy, each year as the nights began to draw in, my uncle John would tell we kids this Halloween story.  It was a tale about a trick that he played in a graveyard.  One night Uncle John spotted his great friend Eddie weaving his way home from the village pub.  As John watched, he saw Eddie open the church’s litch gate and take the shortcut through the graveyard.

    There was no doubt that Eddie was the worse for wear, and appeared disoriented, really he should have taken the longer route home via the round ring.  But then he cried out to nobody in particular, ‘Where am I?’

    John replied instantly, ‘Amongst the living’.

    ‘Where are you?’ cried Eddie’; to which John replied in his most sepulchral voice, ‘Amongst the dead’.

    Eddie sobered up instantly, rushed back the way he came, and took the long way around the churchyard.  This time he preferring to go passed the round ring, rather than stay a minute longer amongst the spirits of the gravestones.

    Ketika saya masih kecil, setiap tahun saati malam mulai tiba, pamanku John akan menceritakan kita cerita Halloween. Itu adalah kisah tentang permainan tipu muslihat yang ia mainkan di kuburan. Suatu malam Paman John melihat teman baik nya Eddie menuju perjalanan pulang dari kedai minuman di desa. Seperti yang dilihat John,  ia melihat Eddie membuka pintu gerbang gereja Litch dan mengambil jalan pintas melalui kuburan.

    Tidak ada keraguan lagi bahwa Eddie adalah buruk untuk dipakai, dan muncul masalah, dia benar-benar harus mengambil jalan yang lebih lama  untuk ke seperti  cincin bulat. Tapi kemudian ia berteriak kepada siapa pun, ‘Di mana aku? “

    John menjawab langsung, ‘Di antara kehidupan’.

    Compromise in Our Live

    In daily live, every people faces many problem. To solve the problem, there are alot of ways that can be used, one of them is compromise. Compromise is one of the way people solve a problem by making a win-win solution to each side. Although not all the problems can be solved by compromise, but compromise can be choosen as the way to solve a problem sometimes such as in the traditional market between seller and buyer, between two or more people when they are working in a group and in traffic acccident. In many situation, compromise is necessary.

    In the traditional market, a lot of sellers and buyers meet to do trading process. In this place, the problem they have to solve is about how to get the deal about the price of some goods. Seller and buyer usually use compromise to solve the problem of the goods’ prices which the seller sells or the buyer wants to buy. In this case, compromise occur when buyer asks the price of goods.If the price is too high for the buyer, the buyer do not agree of the price and she or he will bargain for the lowest price they can get. If there is a deal between two sides, compromise has done. Both sides will get the advantages of the transaction they have done, but if there is no deal, the reverse happens. In the transaction above, both seller and buyer want the benefit from it. To get benefit from trading process, whether they are aware or not, they use compromise. After there is a deal between the two sides, both of the get advantages. Compromise makes both seler and buyer can solve the problem withuot one of them be disappointed.

    Compromise also necessary when we work in group and discussing a problem. A group consist of two or more people with different behaviour and emotional. They have their own way or idea to solve the problem. In this situation, compromise is needed to get the best way to solve the problem. Compromise happens when every part of te group give their idea about how to solve the problem they are discussing. After all the idea received, there is just one idea reputed as the best way. Sometimes we do not agree to the result of the dicussing, but we have to accept it. When we can accept the result of the discussing whether or not agree to the result, we also do compromise. Compromise in this situation can solve the problem in a group, the problem about the difference of idea. Sometimes we can not think about just ourselves, we also think about group, because we are the group’s part.

    In traffic accident situation compromise also can be the best way for us to solve our  problem. When people get accident in the road, sometimes they prefer to do compromise than bring the problem to the police office. Compromise in this situation is the best way to solve the problem. If they bring this problem to the police office, it will make the problem more complex than before. Compromise done when the victim and the suspecy of the accident get the deal about the way they solve the problem, such as by giving some money to the victim. Compromise make the problem between the victim and suspect are solved in peace. The victim of the accident got the money for recovery and for his or her car repair. The suspect can avoided by getting some more problem with the police. There we can see that compromise can used as the simplest way to a problem. Compromise makes both sides, the victim and the suspect of the accident csn solve the problem well.

    In conclusion, although not all the problems can be solved by using compromise, it is important for us to use it as the best and first way to solve the problem. The problem such as in the traditional market, work in gruop, and in the traffic can solve by using compromise. Compromise makes the problem solved in simple way and also give benefit to both sides. We should consider to use compromise as the way we solve our problem.

    “Daedalus And Icarus”

    Daedalus lived in ancient Greece in Europe, during the reign of King Minos. He was very intelligent and created a lot of stuff. He was the inventor of the leading at that time.

    One day, King Minos ordered Daedalus to build a Maze for confining stepson, Minotaur. The labyrinth was a sort of cave with a narrow winding road and had many turns were confusing. People who go into it would get lost and could not find a way out.

    After Daedalus finished building a Labyrinth, King Minos did not want him to divulge the secrets of the Maze to others, then he imprisoned Daedalus together with young son, Icarus on a remote island.

    Of course they did not want to live forever imprisoned. Every time they figured out on how to escape. Daedalus saw the birds flying. He thought. “How can birds fly? It would free if like them. “

    He continued to pay attention to how the bird was flapping its wings and lifted into the air.

    Finally he decided to make a pair of wings for Icarus and another pair for himself. They collected feathers and shaped it into a large wing. They used wax to glue the feathers of the bird. They bind the wings on their shoulders and arms. It’s totally as a new hopes of them.

    They tried the wings and it worked! They fly!

    Daedalus warned Icarus, “Son, remember, you could not fly too close to the sea, because I’m afraid you’ll fall into the water and drowned.”

    “And,” Daedalus continued, “You also did not fly too high. If you’re too close to the sun, the wax will melt your wings and feathers would have been released. “

    “Do not worry, father,” said Icarus, “I’ll be careful.”

    Good Morning

    In this lovely occasion May Allah SWT bless us and always give his mercies. And I would like to deliver my speech which titled “Teachers are hero too”.

    Ladies and Gentlemen

    Indonesia is an absolutely rich in source and human. So we must say thanks a lot to the God who made us here. But we also must keep both of these resources being maximized and respect all which is contained in.

    Teacher is one of the occupation in Indonesia. They are also as the human resources. Being a independent generation which develop the main character of student as the next generation is not a easy. This is why the task of the teacher is heavy.

    They are as one of the main factor of the developing countries. Bad or not can be by how teacher in one country. So the fully take a role in education. In case many of the teacher don’t get enough facilities and salary by their occupation.

    By seeing in the small region, teacher, to eat some rice is hard. They blamed by their salary can not covered their live cost. In result, other people do not want to be teacher as poor as this situation.

    It needs more support from the government to fulfill their live cost, increase their incentive, salary, and other for their wife and children. So they can survive in this hero occupation called “teacher” like in the other developed country, Swiss, Finland, UK.

    So, respect teachers by studying hard!

    Assalamualaikum

    Selamat Pagi

    Pada kesempatan yang berbahagia kali in semoga Allah SWT memberkahi kita dan selalu memberikan rahmatnya. Dan saya kali ini ingin menyampaikan pidato saya yang berjudul “Guru juga Pahlawan”.

    Bapak-bapak dan Ibu-ibu

    Indonesia adalah Negara yang kaya akan sumber daya baik alam maupun manusia. Jadi kita seharusnya bangga dan bersyukur karena kita telah berada disini kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa. Tetapi kita juga harus menjaga kedua sumber daya ini semaksimal mingkindan menghargai semua yang terkandung di dalamnya.

    Guru adalah salah satu bidang pekerjaan di Indonesia. Mereka juga sebagai sumber daya manusia. Menjadi generasi mandiri yang membangun karakter utama para siswa sebaia generasi selanjutnya itu tak mudah. In adalaha tugas yang berat.

    Mereka adalah salah satu factor utama di Negara berkembang. Baik buruknya itu dipengaruhi bagaimana gurtu di suatu Negara. Jadi mereka berperan penuh dalam pendidikan. Dalam hal banyak, guru tidak mendapat fasilitas yang cukup dan gaji yang cukup atas pekerjaannya.

    Coba lihat di daerah terpencil, guru, untuk makan saja susah! Mereka menyalahkan atas gaji mereka yang tak dapat menutupi buaya hidup. Akibatnya, orang lain yang mengetahui hal ini tidak mau menjadi guru jika keadaan memprihatinkan seperti ini.

    Itu membutuhkan dukungan dari pemerintah untuk mencukupi biaya hidup, menaikkan insentif, gaji, dan juga tunjangan anak dan istr. Jadi mereka bias bertahan seperti pahlawan yang berjulukan “Sang Guru” seperti di Negara maju layaknya Swiss, Finlandia, dan Inggris.

    Jadi kita sebagai murid juga harus menghargai mereka dengan belajar yang giat!

    Assalamualaikum Wr , Wb.

    The honorable Mr. Bambang Irfani, M.pd. As  a Speaking 3 Lecturer and my beloved friends.

    Firstly , let’s thank Allah SWT, The almighty who has been giving us his mercy and blessing  till we can attend this meeting without any obstacle in this good place and time.

    Secondly, may sholawat and salam always be with our Prophet Muhammad SAW,  who has guided us from the darkness to the lightness in the world as well as in the next world.

    Thirdly,  I will never  forget  to thank Mr. Bambang  Irfani who has given me opportunity to deliver my speech in front of you all. In this occasion, I would like to present  my speech entitled :

    FASTING

    Fasting is to refrain from eating and drinking from sunrise to sunset.

    The holy month Ramadhan has a special place in islam. Therefore , Our Prophet Muhammad SAW  and his disciples show great concern for this noble month .

    In the Chapter  Al-Baqarah verse 183 Allah swt saying :

    Means : those who believe in the compulsory upon you fast as enjoined upon those before you that you to devout

    Fasting is decreed by Allah SWT to the nation of prophet Muhammad SAW and in the same way, He had decreed to the nations before them.  According to a tradition of the prophet that every good work of adam’s offspring is rewarded by a margin between ten fold to seven hundred fold except fasting.

    In this regard Allah swt says :

    “ Fasting is for me and i will reward it in accordance with the degree of dedication and sincerity in the act of fasting ”.

    The  prophet Muhammad SAW  urges muslims to do fasting seriously and to avoid actions or utterances that would spoil their fasting or invalidate it completely.

    Our prophet Muhammad SAW give his example in his famous narrate saying :

    “ One who didn’t keep of his fasting he would not reach anything except thirst and hunger ”.

    In the holy month of ramadhan, every muslim is urged not only to abstain from food, drink, and sex , but also from sins that can be comitted through the eyes , ears , lips and heart.

    “ If  my nation know the virtues of ramadhan they would have wished the whole year to be Ramadhan “.

    And indeed ,  this will be true that Ramadhan is a month in which the doors of heaven are opened , the doors of hell are closed and the major devils , all are chained to help muslims to worship Allah with dedication.

    Similarly , he urged his followers to enliven  these nights to search the special night which is called “ Lailatul Qadr “  in  which  angels are led by Gabril descend on earth and pray for mercy  for the faitfuls .

    That’s all my speech ,  i’m sorry if i have mistake , thank you very much for your attention .
